Effect of Composite Microbial Biopolymer Treatment on Hydraulic Conductivity of Completely Decomposed Granite Soil

In southeast China, slope with completely decomposed granite (CDG) soil is susceptible to landslide under heavy rainfall, due the fissure-rich and slaking characteristics of this kind soil. context, study attempted hydraulically improve CDG in a low-carbon manner by using composite xanthan gum guar (i.e., two different microbial biopolymers), as an alternative cement. Hydraulic conductivity treated was measured tailer-made apparatus. Test result shows that biopolymer content 2% could lower over 1000 times, ratio 1:1 between Xanthan gums yielded best performance general. Application weathered granitic investigated finite element method simulation. Numerical indicates treatment can eliminate failure effectively rainfall hundred-year return period.
